When I first launched my company and began to attend business networking meetings, people who did not remember my name often called me Write Lady. That sounded just right to me!
I was destined to be a writer but started out in my family's business, where I acquired an old-fashioned appreciation for my customers. After college, I went to work in corporate America, earned my MBA, and had a few literary pieces published. I was at home raising the kids and being the most doting wife imaginable (poetic license) when the idea of Write Lady began to keep me awake at night.
In order to encourage business, I offered a risk-free guarantee of total satisfaction and built my company one customer at a time. Today, 99 percent of my business originates from loyal customers and referrals.
I am especially grateful for the people who inspire and support me:
- Clients, friends and colleagues, who stimulate my business and brain
- My family, who reminds me why I am here and why life is so precious
- My mother, who handed down her mother's writing gene
- Mrs. Clarice Foster, the finest English teacher in Summerville High's history
- Southerners, who enrich everyday language with colorful expressions that either hit and run with one-liners or meander in and out of conversations that always stay with you
A member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, I live in North Georgia with my husband of 23 years, our two teenaged kids, and two lively dogs. I have a soft spot for children and pets in need, and donate my writing skills to organizations that directly support such causes whenever possible.
